WHEN AFRICAN WOMEN READ

Join the book club

Membership is open to women of African descent that is women that identify as African, Black and/or Caribbean.
The book club meetings have a maximum of 18 participants per book club meeting. New members can join throughout the year and all members can read along with the book club. You can sign up for each book cycle on Eventbrite.

How we do it

Club members are notified in advance of book selection. Every member must have a digital copy, or paperback, or hardcopy of the selected book, purchased or borrowed and read prior to the meeting for that cycle. Time is allotted at each meeting for reflections and discussions. Participation is required by each member and members must agree to abide by the Book Club norms.

2022 books.

This year’s books were chosen by the book club host Founding Member Cynthia Onyegbula and our Founder Rehana Malik-Mbanga. It was important to ensure that books from across the African region were chosen that told stories that would tackle key issues that we professional women identify with.

Isolation Kills Generations
