Introduction

This special edition of Women Talk Wednesday is focused on helping women better understand money, build confidence around financial decision-making, and explore pathways to long-term wealth.

From budgeting and debt management to investing, real estate, and funding opportunities, this session is designed to make financial literacy feel accessible, practical, and achievable, no matter where you are starting from.

Led by Funke Ernest-Omoruyi, the evening will combine practical teaching, interactive discussion, and a live Q&A clinic to create a supportive learning environment where women can ask questions, gain clarity, and begin taking ownership of their financial future with confidence.

Meet Our Speaker

Funke Ernest-Omoruyi (CEO, Funke Financials)

Funke Ernest-Omoruyi, also known as Funke Ernest, is a Certified Financial Educator, Cybersecurity Professional, and the CEO of Funke Financials, a platform dedicated to helping immigrants and professionals in Canada build lasting wealth and financial confidence. When Funke moved to Canada from Nigeria, she encountered two overwhelming realities at once: the complexity of the Canadian financial system and the vulnerability of her digital life. That lived experience became her life’s work. She realised that true financial empowerment requires not just knowing how to grow your money but also how to protect it. With over two decades of experience across banking, finance, IT, and cybersecurity, Funke brings a rare and powerful blend of expertise that speaks directly to the real-world challenges facing immigrant women and families today. She is the visionary behind the Smart Wealth Accelerator, a fast-growing financial literacy community built specifically for newcomers and professionals who want to understand money the right way.

To date, over 500 families have transformed their finances through her teaching, a testament to her belief that financial education should be practical, accessible, and life-changing.
